On and on in circles we go
Striving to numb every thought away
For to bask in the present is a task of its own
Insanity — is a much easier place
On and on in circles we go
Striving to numb every thought away
For to bask in the present is a task of its own
Insanity — is a much easier place
Sirens beckon you from the world of dreams
Like the yearning embrace of a lover as you leave
Sleep, she refuses to part with you
Ever so gently she asks – just one more moment
As you surrender all efforts and reason
Time shrinks and expands in what feels like eons of another life
Only to find yourself awake again
With that bewilderingly familiar feeling
All in but a moments passing
Just – one fleeting moment.
As the days they grow rather grey and lonely
There is but a distant memory of the suns embrace
Stumbling through remnants of a forgotten trail
Feet, grow cold, weaker, every step along the way
Distraught of the sound of shimmering leaves
Trees, they stand naked
Embracing their sweetest dreams
Perhaps, you weren’t supposed to be awake
Spring, it awaits.
This world is a retail store where your life is sold.
Some people are lucky enough to get a discount — But, the majority don’t.
Even if you do; there’s always going to be someone who managed to get it cheaper than what you bought it for.
This is an undeniable fact.
That’s exactly why you should expect to pay full price.
At all times.
Oh – how must it feel to soar like a bird
Painting pictures wafting through open skies
Breeze sifting through your shoulders
Must be nice, to be a bird you’d think
Failing to realize the trick your wicked mind plays
In wanting to be elsewhere but here
Look just a bit closer and you’ll find
How in wanting you perceive a tainted reality
One that even the bird never sees
You can choose to dream or learn to surrender
For in every moment there’s a quiet opportunity
To recognize that you’re already that bird
If you want to be
Crawling into the comforts of your every day
Quaintly terrorizing every step of its way
Howling and screaming, robbing you of certainity
Hope dwindles as the skies fade gray
Oh, if only the dear fear of failure would show its face
There is beauty in pain endured
Like the waves that wash away footprints in the sand
Rocks that stand tall yet giving in to wind and water
Trees tall and strong weathering mighty winters
The skin burning under the scorching sun
Reminds me of the sun that alway rises and sets
And so does everything.
They return to their primal form with a faint memory of time endured
We always arrive at where we begin
Hope is like the beacon of light to a sailor lost in sea
